She’s an artist…There’s no mistaking this even after the briefest of encounters with the music of Tilly Key. You learn the definition of passion while she gives life to every note and word she sings. She’s not your typical pop singer, she’s unexpected because she shares her whole heart and soul whether performing in a vocal booth or on stage in front of thousands. She’s a singer-songwriter who pays attention to old school and new school qualities of showmanship bringing the best of both. Tilly Key is of great substance, she sings in 6 languages and has a 4 1/2 octave Alto singing range. There is a powerful energy that comes out of her when she steps into a room. Feline walk, piercing eyes, strong personality, she knows what she wants and speaks her mind. She is different... She's a Child Of The World... 

Born on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Corsica, Tilly was destined for the music industry from a very young age. Nurtured by an artistic family, singing runs through her veins for generations, her great gran-uncle Francesco Tamagno, in 1887, sang the first Verdi's Otello, her gran-mother was a famous Corsican singer who taught Tilly her very first song at age 6. As soon as her love for singing developed, Tilly was already making a name for herself as a singing sensation. Regularly requested to perform all over the Island or on the Island’s most popular radio stations and featuring on first page of Corsican newspaper. Before she turned 10, this child prodigy sold 3000 records independently on a Island of 180,000 population. Tilly, then, know as her native name Laetitia, had already released two records, was acknowledged as Best Corsican Singer (competing against adults) when she caught the attention of major label EMI France, after what, she moved to Paris to begin a national professional career in the music industry. 

 

On a journey… Tilly works hard, she makes a name for herself as a teenager in the main land and releases five successful singles including two top ten hit singles. Notably in 2001, “L’ombre Et La Lumiere” reaching the #1 spot in France and top 10 Europe. While living in Paris she performed for the charitable foundation of former French President Jacques Chirac in front of 60,000 people in Stade De France. 

 

Ready…Tilly Key moves to California by herself at age 20 to pursue her destiny , she's not afraid. While some would shy away from not speaking English or being on a tourist visa, her ambition and dedication translates as courage as she approaches her first love of music as the purpose to her life. In 2006 she receives her green card from the U.S. government and becomes a legal alien. 

 

Tilly is an Alto who developed her abilities over four octave, she sings in a soprano range with an alto quality which gives her a very recognizable tone and establishes her as an artist with staying power. She’s already caught the attention of industry heavyweights, to name a few: Prince, Diane Warren (Tony Braxton, Christina Aguilera), The Underdogs (Jojo, Beyonce) or super producer Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston) who has called Tilly a young mix of Mariah and Celine. While legendary producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were so impressed with her that they produced "Ne me laisse pas seule ici" (Don’t leave me here by myself) with Tilly on the Oscar nominated film Hotel Rwanda. Billboard Magazine called Tilly Key's contribution a “heartfelt performance”.

In 2014, Tilly Key will be releasing a new single from her "Cocoon" album to the French and U.S market as well as a Hollywood based reality series about the entertainment business , love and charity along with her best friend and “Les Petrolettes Entertainment INC." business partner, Lehita Catan also known as "Lilly" to air on French Television.

 

Aside of being an artist, Tilly Key is also a very successful behind the scene expert as an international vocal coach and music business consultant for upcoming singers with her studio based in North Hollywood. She inspires, gives private vocal lessons, studio coaching and direct a videos. It’s her way to express her many talents and give back some of the blessings while staying connected with music at all time.

 

Daily, she trains physically, spiritually and vocally because she thrives to be better, Keeping direct contact with her fans through many social networks is very important to her.
